DISEASES OF THE LEAF
If your lawn is properly watered and fertilized but still has a yellowish color, very probably this is caused by one or more of the diseases on the leaf.In your lawn there are many beneficial organisms, however, there are several other harmful.
The bad ones are the forms parasitic diseases called fungi. The fungi live in the soil and on infected leaves throughout the year.
These fungi feed by subtracting the grass the nutrients they need.
The disease spreads on the lawn through the spores. These spores are scattered by wind, air, and water from the flooring of the people.
The disease can reappear each year if the favourable circumstances present themselves.
CAUSES OF DISEASES OF THE LEAF IN LAWNS
There must be three factors for the disease of the leaf to occur.
There must be a plant, in this case, the grass of the lawn, a pathogen, then a mushroom and a favorable environment for the disease.
If any of these factors is missing, the symptoms of the disease are not present.
Even with all three factors, the disease will not occur unless favourable conditions continue over a long period of time.
Some of the most common causes of diseases of the leaf are the following:
SOME OF THE MOST COMMON DISEASES OF THE LEAF
SPOTS ON the LEAVES (Helminthosproium) - This disease is recognized by small dots of yellow with a border of dark color. These lesions appear on the whole surface of the leaf. The disease develops when the weather is hot and humid. This disease often occurs in lawns mowed too frequently.
DOLLAR SPOT (Sclerotinia Homeocarpa) - The Sclerotinia Homeocarpa more commonly known as Dollar Spot is a disease that develops in lawns during warm, humid weather. The fungus enters the plants of the lawn when wet. Wounds large and colourful appear on the leaves. One can see the appearance of an hourglass on the leaf. The infected zones to form small circles like coins to a dollar. With the passage of time, the various damaged areas will tend to join forming large patches.
RUST THE LEAF - rust of the leaf occurs on lawns during periods of hot humid. The disease affects the plants of the lawn, particularly after a mowing carried out in the evening and followed by a copious watering at night. In the areas very infested with the fungus damages the lawn by creating large areas circular. The close inspection of the plant revealed that the leaves die from the tips down with a purple line brownish that moves horizontally across the plant.
HOW TO TREAT THE DISEASES OF THE LEAF
A lawn that suffers from the diseases of the leaf is like us when we are cold. There is no treatment that can cure the lawn for which we must intervene on the symptoms. And while trying to reduce the effects, if the circumstances continue to be favourable to the disease these occur over and over again. The best treatment is to prevent development of the disease by intervening on the conditions that cause it. As already explained before, in order for a disease to develop it needs a plant, a pathogen and the environment suitable to its development. It is clear that the only factor that we can change, are the circumstances favorable to the development of the disease. Some tips to change these circumstances are the following:

Some of the most common causes of diseases of the leaf are the following:
- Long periods of hot, humid
- Watering during the night or abbondandi rains in the evening. watering in the morning allows the excess moisture, it evaporates with the heat of the day. The watering at night leaves the leaves the grass wet for long and this creates the ideal environment for the spread of the spores
- Mow when the lawn is bangnato promotes the diffusion of the spores of the disease
- When the blade of the mower is the cutting edge makes a clean cut that heals quickly, unlike a blade that is not sharp. When the blade is not sharp snatches the leaf, and makes a cut notched. This requires more time to healing of the leaf and also cut the notched support of the dissemination of the spores of the disease.
- Cuts that are too frequent subjecting the lawn to stress and make the lawn more susceptible to diseases
- If the plant is lacking the substances of nutrient essential such as for example nitrogen, they become more vulnerable to the attack of diseases

- Make sure that the blade of the lawn mower is kept sharp
- A lawn healthy is the best defense against the disease, for which we have to nourish or fertilize it regularly
- Outside of our control then there are the climatic conditions that will help to a greater extent the lawn cope with the diseases of the leaf
