Lay the Prato Pronto correctly
Laying the lawn ready may seem a simple thing, and in fact it is if you follow some precautions and if you are a little familiar with the DIY.
We at Prato Erboso On Line show you below 3 simple steps to make an optimal laying of your lawn.
- PHASE 1 - THE PREPARATION OF THE SOIL
The elimination of pest species can occur substantially in two ways.
The first is to use a total herbicide with leaf absorption, containing the active ingredient Gliphosate at a dose of 100 ml diluted in 4/5 liters of water every 100 square meters.
Spray the solution on dry leaves and do not irrigate and / or mow for at least 12 hours.
When the weeds are dry, it is possible to proceed to the subsequent processing phases, which consists in turning the soil mechanically (by means of a rotary hoe, rotary tiller or rotary cultivator) or manually (digging, hoeing) by working it up to obtain a finely chopped and clod-free surface layer .
At this stage of processing, "Starter" type fertilizer could be added Bottos NascePrato 6-18-8 rich in phosphorus to speed up the rooting of the lawn.
We then proceed to raking to remove weeds, old lawn, clods or large stones.
This operation will also allow you to level the ground. Once this is done it will be useful to roll the soil to compact it and level it further.
- PHASE 2 - LAYING THE MEADOW
We suggest that you have the lawn delivered to you when the soil preparation work is completed in order to lay the lawn as soon as you receive it. It is important, in fact, that the rolled up lawn does not dwell on the pallets for too many days.
Start by distributing the rolls evenly, spacing them about 1.30 / 1.40 m apart, being careful to position them with the flap open on the same side. This will allow you to unroll them all in the same direction so that the narrow sides match the mandatory cuts made by the zollatrice machine.
Unroll the plates one at a time and bring the plates together with each other making sure that the plates fit perfectly, leaving no spaces and avoiding overlaps. Shape the clods around the plants and along the edges of your garden by cutting them with a normal serrated kitchen knife.
- PHASE 3 - LAWN MANAGEMENT AFTER LAYING
To ensure greater adhesion of the lawn clods to the ground, after watering, roll the lawn.
Irrigate abundantly at least once a day in order to keep the soil fresh for the next 5/7 days.
After 7/10 days from the laying, make the first mowing of the lawn bringing the height of the lawn back to the height it was when you laid it.
Adjust the irrigation according to the needs dictated by the climate and the needs of the lawn.
