It's time to check the soil moisture from the roots.
With Rain Bird's new SMRT-Y Soil Moisture Sensor Kit, an irrigation controller directly reads the moisture contained in the soil.
When the sensor detects dry conditions, it allows the next scheduled watering cycle. If the soil moisture level is above the threshold, the irrigation cycle is suspended.
There are only two basic components: an in-ground sensor and a user interface on the controller.
