INFO ON ROLLED LAWNGrown from certified seed and nourished by fertile soil, our turf grows healthy and strong, with a beauty you have to see to believe. Rolled turf (or sod) is a "mature" lawn, meaning it's sown and cultivated with constant care and attention for an average of eighteen months. It's harvested into strips with special equipment and rolled up for easy transport and installation. The sod is cut one and a half centimeters below ground level, and the grass remains tightly knit thanks to the dense network of roots. Using this type of turf offers several advantages over traditional seeding. Turf does not require the same amount of care as young plants (gentle, constant watering, intermittent fertilization, weed control, and reseeding if heavy rains dislodge the seeds). The final effect is immediate, and the new lawn can be walked on within about a fortnight. Transplanting sod can be done year-round. During very hot periods, remember that the operation is more delicate and requires great care and timely watering. Prepare the soil in advance, tilling it to a depth of ten to fifteen centimeters, so that you can roll out the turf the same day you purchase it. In fact, it is live grass that can suffer and turn yellow if left rolled up for more than 24-48 hours (even less in summer!). | |||||||||
