Kikuyu seeds from Bottos ' Zolla Verde line are ideal for creating turf in various environmental contexts, including coastal environments and gardens that face mild winters.
It is a species native to tropical Africa with the botanical name of Pennisetum clandestinum.
Bottos Kikuyu seeds are characterized by excellent resistance to heat and to the main diseases. They spread rapidly thanks to vigorous stolons and rhizomes.
The peculiarity of Kikuyu seeds is undoubtedly the lower dormancy compared to any other macrothermal species. In coastal environments where there is a mild winter, these seeds are therefore capable of maintaining their green color even during the cold months, not requiring the normal autumn overseeding practices typical of macrothermal meadows. Shading tolerance is medium.
The 5 kilogram bag allows you to sow up to approximately 500 square meters of surface area. It can be sown from April to August.
