Kikuyu seeds from the Zolla Verde line by Bottos are ideal for creating lawns in various environmental contexts, including coastal environments and gardens that face mild winters.
This is a species native to tropical Africa with the botanical name of Pennisetum clandestinum.
Bottos Kikuyu seeds are characterized by excellent resistance to heat and major diseases. They spread rapidly thanks to vigorous stolons and rhizomes.
The peculiarity of Kikuyu seeds is undoubtedly the lower dormancy compared to any other macrothermal species. In coastal environments with a mild winter, these seeds are therefore able to maintain their green color even during the cold months, not requiring the normal autumn overseeding practices typical of macrothermal meadows. Shading tolerance is medium.
The 5 kg bag allows you to sow up to about 500 square meters of surface. You can sow from April to August.
