Kikuyu seeds from Bottos ' Zollaverde Macro line are ideal for creating lawns in various environmental contexts, including coastal environments and gardens that face mild winters.
It is a species native to tropical Africa with the botanical name of Pennisetum clandestinum.
Bottos ' Kikuyu seeds are characterized by excellent resistance to heat and major diseases. They spread rapidly thanks to vigorous stolons and rhizomes.
Kikuyu seeds are unique in that they have a shorter dormancy period than any other warm-season species. In coastal environments with mild winters, these seeds are therefore able to maintain their green color.
Even during the cold months, it doesn't require the usual autumn overseeding practices typical of warm-season meadows. Shade tolerance is average.
The 500-gram box allows you to sow up to approximately 100 square meters of seed. It can be sown from April to August.
