The TORO Irrigazione 118-8816 solenoid is compatible with TORO TPV, P150, P220 solenoid valves.
This solenoid is specifically designed for battery powered irrigation systems.
The 118-8816 solenoid does not require direct current but operates in pulses.
The control unit sends a 9-volt electrical discharge lasting a few milliseconds. The internal piston retracts and remains locked in the open position thanks to an internal permanent magnet. During irrigation, energy consumption is zero. Then, at the end of the cycle, the control unit sends a pulse, reversing the electrical polarity. This pushes the piston downward and closes the water passage.
The coil is completely sealed in resin to resist the humidity, water infiltration and mud typical of solenoid valve wells.
