Problem
The irrigation system irrigates at preset days and times without taking into account the real need for water in the soil.
The soil could be irrigated even if it is actually still wet perhaps due to heavy rainfall in the previous days, or due to an excessive irrigation schedule, or due to the climate that was milder and did not dry out the soil completely.
Irrigating an already moist soil not only constitutes a useless waste of water but is also harmful to the health of the lawn and plants that find themselves in a constantly humid environment where mold, algae and pathogenic microorganisms proliferate.
The soil may not be irrigated even if the soil is actually dry due to an insufficient irrigation program, or due to the climate which has been hotter than expected and has completely dried the soil.
If the lawn does not receive water when it needs it, it degenerates dry.
